Evaluation During Reading

When you are going to write an article it is very important that you investigate seriously on your subject. A well written article has various sources that you have to evaluate. You do not want to quote or state a fact that comes from an author who is not accredited or well reknown. Everyone can post information on the internet so you have to decide who are you going to believe, and what exactly do you want to say. When getting to know a source you have to be like a csi investigator; you have to check the person up as well as all of their work. Maybe read a biography on the author, learn some of what he writes besides the text of information. Most important is to not stick to one source but look around in the market. There are billions of books and cites and articles that are offering one same product; you have to know what you are looking for and select from the market what you want to browse. After browsing and having a general knowledge on each source, choose the most important ones, preferably few of them. Select those who offer what you want. You are the client so just obtain exactly what you want. Determine also what is in the producer's mind by exposing those ideas, what does this person or group of people want you to get out of what they write, basically what is the purpose of their piece so you can get that out of it. You have to be the judge and state whether this source is biased or if does not provide enough evidence to support their case. You also want to check if this evidence is pertinent with the time period because evidence and facts and opinions from our great grandfathers will not work as fine as those provided by scholars from this time. Finally be aware that you are doing this for your self so have the highest expectations and always aim for prefection, this way you'll obtain the best sources the market offers.

Kike,

I'm glad to see you're reading again. You should keep it up. Still, you don't quote from the text itself. Try to use the blog as a way to better understand what your read.
